BEA WebLogic Server® Virtual Edition is a Java EE environment optimized to get the most out of virtualized hardware. Through a highly tuned JVM and operating system compression, it streamlines the application stack. This allows more applications per server, significantly reducing hardware and operations costs and greatly simplifying deployment.

The pressure on enterprise IT organizations to “do more with less” is greater than ever. Two opposing forces are at work: growing data center build-out costs and increased demand for computing resources, driven by application proliferation—which is in turn enabled by technologies such as Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). The pressure is compounded by expectations that IT move more quickly than ever.

Ironically, there is much untapped potential in the 80-90% of existing server capacity that is currently unused by the typical enterprise.
